PATNA BOOK FAIR INTERACTION, DATED FEBRUARY 7, 2017

The direct interaction with book-lovers on February 7, 2017; was an unique experience in the Patna Book Fair. My friend and renowned writer Sri Bhairab Lal Das Ji was the anchor in the inter-active session held in the Bhojpuri Muktakash Manch (Patna Book Fair Open Theatre) in the afternoon.

The point of discussion revolved round the 'recently published book' of mine, "The Making of the First Cantonment of the Indian Subcontinent in Patna, 1757-1768."
[Prabuddha Biswas at Patna Book Fair, dated February 7, 2017; interacting with the audience in regards to his recently published book on Cantonment. — at Patna Book Fair at Bhojpuri Muktakash Manch.]

We interacted on various points and topics, written on various pages of the book in regards to three initial cantonments of the Indian subcontinent, justified claim of Bankipur-Danapur as the oldest functioning Cantonment, significance of Patna as one of the most important City in the then India, importance of Southern Ganges route through Patna, circumstances that led to the re-location of Bankipur cantonment to Patna and many other topics which were directly related to 18th Century Indian history.
[Prabuddha Biswas along with the Patna Book Fair 2017 Convenor Mr. Amit Jha. — at Patna Book Fair Administrative Office]

The fascinating part of the whole interaction was that people listened us patiently, without any interruption and they belonged to all age group; school children, youth , middle aged-persons and senior citizens. Bhairab Lall Das Ji also anchored the interaction so well that there were no deviations from my side and we could finish our discussion well within time-frame of fifty minute slot (2.20 PM -3.10 PM).
Again I thank book-lovers for the patient-hearing and thank organisers for providing the platform for sharing my views.

VIEWS SHARED BY BHAIRAB LAL DAS JI: - मेरे लिए बिलकुल नया अनुभव था। पटना पुस्‍तक मेला के मंच पर दिनांक 7 फरवरी, 2017 को इतिहासकार प्रबुद्ध विश्‍वास की उनकी सद्य: प्रकाशित पुस्‍तक "The Making of the First Cantonment of the Indian Subcontinent in Patna, 1757-1768."
